Ministers Of Hospitality (Ushers)

Greet one another with a holy kiss

After speaking with the contact person, you select the Mass to which you would like to commit. You will then be shown the ropes by an experienced usher.

The role of the Usher/Minister of Hospitality is to greet the congregation as they enter church, to assist them in locating seating, to arrange for participants in the presentation of the gifts, and to take up the collection, as well as to be alert to the needs of the congregation during the Mass, i.e. to assist someone who may become ill during the liturgy and to call for medical assistance if it is needed.

The Usher/Minister of Hospitality should be a welcoming person, able to greet graciously and talk to others. In order to be attentive to the needs of the congregation, he/she should be able to stand during the length of the liturgy, if necessary.
