Parish Pastoral Council

As far as possible the laity ought to provide helpful collaboration for every apostolic and missionary undertaking sponsored by their local parish. (Decree of the Apostolate of the Laity, #10)

The Parish Pastoral Council is a consultative body to the pastor. The pur-pose of the Council is: a) to form community as a sign and witness of unity to the larger parish community; b) to provide recommendations for parish prior-ities and directions; c) and to promote communication and understanding among parish organizations and between the parish, the diocese and the uni-versal church.
For the selection process to serve on the Council, each parishioner may suggest him/herself or another parishioner. The names of those who qualify will be put into a hat. On the designated Sunday, three names will be drawn by lot. Those chosen serve for a three year term.
