The Eucharist is “the source and summit of the Christian life.”136 “The other sacraments, and indeed all ecclesiastical ministries and works of the apostolate, are bound up with the Eucharist and are oriented toward it. For in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ himself, our Pasch. CCC 1324
Students in 2nd grade can begin preparing to receive their 1st Holy Communion in January of their 2nd grade year. The student should be enrolled in a Catholic School, Parish Faith Formation program or participating in an approved Home School Religion Curriculum. Students should also have completed religious instruction during their 1st grade year!
